un jour très parfait :D

While walking along the cliffs in Étretat there's a small path that diverges from the main trail and leads vertically down the cliff to a secluded beach below. At first glance the path would turn any one away as it is narrow and equipped with ropes to aid your descent and climb, but as it seems to be my lot in life to take the path less traveled so I took this one. Words don't do this path justice as it is littered with missing steps, broken ropes, uprooted wooden pikes and slippery drops--evidently the path has been out of use for 11 years, something we did not discover till after we had climbed down and up the cliff.

The climb was as dangerous as it was exhilarating but was made worthwhile when the final steps revealed a gorgeous pebble beach with turquoise ocean views that sprawled out on either side. I guess that's how it goes then, isn't it? The path less traveled, riddled with obstacles and opposition, can lead to the most beautiful of views.
